A supercharged, all-purpose sports watch
When Breitling introduced its Chronomat in 1984, it represented a comeback for mechanical Swiss timepieces following the quartz crisis in the 1970s. The stylish and impressive new mechanical watch proved to be a winner – challenging its diminutive quartz rivals with its striking, modern proportions and becoming an icon of its era. Today, the Super Chronomat 44 represents a synergy of Breitling's past and the Grenchen maker's bright future – a bold, ultra-capable watch tailored for those in pursuit of the next great adventure.
True to the original Chronomat which was inspired by the Frecce Tricolori, the Super Chronomat's distinctive bezel rider tabs protect the sapphire crystal – and the tabs at 3:00 and 9:00 are interchangeable, enabling the wearer to tailor their bezel for count up, or count-down missions. New for the Super Chronomat, is the extra-bold 44mm case which is topped with a bezel crafted from stainless steel and finished with a ceramic insert punctuated by 18k red gold graduations.
As its name implies, the Super Chronomat 44 Complete Calendar has a semi-perpetual calendar mechanism that needs adjusting just once every leap year – or every four years. Water-resistant to 100 meters, this reference is powered by the Breitling Caliber 19, a COSC-certified chronograph movement with a semi-perpetual calendar with day, date, month, and moon phase indicators.
